Summary

Dr. Lindsay Boole completed the Global Health Internal Medicine Pathway in 2016. Dr. Boole graduated from Emory University with an MD/MPH degree with summa cum laude and Alpha Omega Alpha honors. During medical school, she conducted research in Haiti and Zambia, the latter of which was funded by an Infectious Disease Society of America Medical Scholars Award. Dr. Boole’s area of research interest is management of sepsis in low resource settings. She was awarded a Fogarty Global Health Fellowship for her project entitled:Clinical Trial of an Algorithm for Management of Severe Sepsis in a Low-Resource Healthcare Setting in Kenya.

In residency, Dr. Boole served as Assistant Chief Resident at Duke University Hospital, and received both Duke’s Snyderman Award for research in graduate medical education and the Bruce Dixon Award for excellence in clinical medicine as a Senior Resident. She was selected as the Chief Resident in Quality and Patient Safety at the Durham VA for the 2015-2016 academic year. After completing the GHP, she continued her training in the Duke Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program, a field in which attention to global health concerns is growing rapidly. She is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke and a pulmonologist at WakeMed.
