Global Health Residency Program Curriculum per Department

Overview | Medicine | Neurosurgery | Psychiatry | Obstetrics and Gynecology | Emergency Medicine

Departmental Participation Overview

A unique feature of the Global Health Residency Program is its cross-departmental participation. As you browse the Departmental Curricula links above, you will notice that each Global Health Residency training track has been slightly modified to meet the unique requirements of each specialty. Some tracks, Medicine, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry, blend Global Health Residency requirements into the existing specialty training program. Please note that trainees applying for a blended track can only apply after they have entered into their primary residency training program at Duke. Other tracks have been developed along the lines of a fellowship, in which trainees are board eligible in their respective specialties before starting the Global Health Residency. Global Health training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Emergency Medicine follow the fellowship model. Recruitment for the fellowship tracks is open to external candidates; however the program gives priority consideration to internal candidates. Check your specialty department link above for eligibility and application information. Please note that although the Master of Science in Global Health is a core component of the Global Health Residency Program, the program may choose to modify this requirement for applicants who have earned a master’s degree in a comparable field.
