Summary

Matthew Weingard is currently a clinical associate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with University of Utah Health.  He is a 2022 graduate of the Global Health Pathway. He completed his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, State College and earned a B.S.N. from University of Pennsylvania. He continued his medical training at Tulane University where he completed an M.D. and a master of public health with a concentration in tropical medicine.  Before joining Duke, he completed general psychiatry residency at Georgetown University. Matt’s previous research experience included various projects focused on recombinant malarial vaccine production, traumatic brain injury, and the clinical impact of family centered care on outcomes in a pediatric psychiatry unit. His current research project will inform the streamlining of pediatric mental health referral in the Red Cross Hospital system, located in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
