Summary

Dr. Sweta Patel completed the Duke Global Health Pulmonary Fellowship in 2020. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Duke Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Patel earned her undergraduate degree in Biology as well as her medical degree at Duke University and then completed an internal medicine residency at University of San Francisco in California. Her research in Botswana focuses on the impact of HIV infection or exposure on the nasopharyngeal microbiome of children in Botswana under the mentorship of Dr. Coleen Cunningham.
